ok then....I'm yet to hear a guitarist who comes close to Jerry's unique style, which made up the GD sound still rules, in me book. Herring has that sonic-jazz sound, but no cigar!
Steve Kimock came the closest, but he never seemed to take "the bull by the horns" a bit shy in that regard IMHO.
I was always asaying "Come on Steve, break loose and lead!"
I'd like to hear Willy Nelson do some with P&F-he'd be good but probably on the ballad side.
But nobody sang Dylan as good as Jerry! Dylan makes Phil sound excellent-at least in '89.....though Phil sings a nice Unbroken Chain as of late.
